UK Water Dispensers Return to Growth

Posted on 22nd April 20218th April 2022 by Posted in Events, Hydration, News, UncategorisedLeave a Comment on UK Water Dispensers Return to Growth

Zenith Global, the food and drink experts, reported its research findings to WHA Members today, Thursday 22nd April 2021, virtually  as one of their membership benefits.

Top line findings were that the UK water dispense industry has proved its resilience in 2020, losing only 3% of its customer base during the pandemic.

The total number of water dispensers in December 2020 was estimated to be 840,000 consisting:

  • Bottled water dispensers – 38% (falling by 8%)
  • Mains-fed water dispensers – 39% (falling by 2% and overtaking bottled water dispensers for the first time)
  • Integrated tap system installations grew by 4% to reach a 23% share.

Among other findings by the Zenith research team, pricing remained stable. Domestic use of water dispensers increased, but not to the extent of other home delivery services.

“We all know that 2020 was a tough year for the industry” said WHA Chairman Jon Wicks. “However, hydration continues to be essential for workforce wellbeing. With WHA Members offering high quality sustainable hydration solutions, we are confident of a significant bounce back in 2021/22”.
